Letters [manuscript]. 1867-1868.

Ms copies of seven letters written by H. Harvey Jr. and three letters written by people in Melbourne. Three letters were written before the ship left England, one when she was 3 weeks out from Melbourne and the other three from Melbourne, giving details of his visits to Hobart, Ballarat, Sydney, Camperdown and various stations, of kangaroo hunting and so on. Two letters, from Mrs. Kennison and J. Bell, describe Harvey's illness and death from "Colonial" fever. The last letter, of 20 pages, is from J.E. Howarth and relates mainly to Harvey's last days. Typescript copies of the letters are kept with the originals.
